ACCOMPLISHMENTS : FDA Licensure of Blood Products:
1.

Licensure of non-rejuvenated frozen red blood cells-frozen storage for 10 years, post-wash storage for 24 hours.

2. Licensure of indated- and outdated-rejuvenated frozen red blood cells-frozen storage for 10 years, post-wash storage for 24 hours.
3. DMSO (Tera Pharmaceuticals) is FDA-approved as a platelet cryoprotectant.
4. Ficoll-hypaque plastic bag system (Ethox) for collection of peripheral blood mononuclear cells.
5. Licensure of fresh frozen plasma stored at –80 C for 7 years.
6. Licensure of the Haemonetics ACP 215 to glycerolize and deglycerolize previously frozen human red blood cells for storage at 4 C in AS-3 for 2 weeks
